Easter 2013

Happy Easter!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter filled with jelly beans, chocolate bunnies, and most important Christ. We are always trying to have fun with holidays and making memories but at the same time remembering the importance of the special day. The girls are now a great age to understand the importance of Easter and the importance of the death and resurrection of Christ. We talk about Christ all the time and even more at Easter time and it seems like the Easter bunny became the main thing of Easter. However the girls really tried to remember Christ this year. They would find the different significance in the different Easter traditions. The boys on the other hand are definitely not there, it's about the candy filled eggs.
This year we enjoyed a few Easter egg hunts with friends and family.
By the time Easter came Kieron had the whole egg thing down. He would find an egg, shake it, open, and then eat all the candy before getting any other eggs.

SUN!

SUN!!! We had a great afternoon outside today playing in the front yard. Kylie started to learn to ride her bike without training wheels. She is doing very well and will be on two wheels real soon. Give her a week of practice and she'll have it down. Now if only we could have a week of nice weather.
Kieron road his bike with the help of his brother. Xander can be a great big brother when he wants to be.

One of the kids favorite things to do outside is color with chalk. They love to trace their bodies and make chalk people.

We also went on a walk.

What to do with a very ACTIVE BOY?............JUDO

Xander is a very active little boy and always on the go. In the summer time he spends his days out side running around with his dog, Roxy. Winter time is very hard for him, not being able to go outside.   He has been so bored this winter. He was getting excited to take the girls to dance or piano, because that meant he was on the move. Sad, I know. Sam and I have been trying to find Xander an activity that he could look forward to. The problem is most sports here start at 4 years old.

Then the other day Sam was at jujitsu and was talking to his friend about our problem. His friend, the owner, told Sam that they have a Judo class for kids on Monday and Wednesday nights. Perfect!!!!

Monday was Xander's first day of Judo. He was the littlest in the class, but did very well.

Practicing rolls

Xander's push-ups were very entertaining. Some of those were rocking out better push-ups than I could do.
Xander's 2nd day was on Wednesday. He did 10x's better than Monday. He learned some new moves, and has been showing them to us at home. I've been very impressed. The best part about having Xander in Judo is......He's been tired all week. It has really wiped him out. He's been taking naps again and still going to bed at 8:30. It's AWESOME!

1st Visit From The Toothfairy

Right around Kylie's birthday she got her her first loose tooth. She wasn't too sure about pulling it out, mainly because of Janika's overly dramatic tooth pulling scene. You would have thought she was being torchered. Anyways Kylie didn't want any help pulling her tooth.
Today when Kylie went to the dentist she asked Dr. Barfuss to pull her tooth and this is how she came out, toothless

 Yea, SNOW!
We missed the first snow when we were in Florida. So, to us this was the first snow of the season. The kids were extremely excited to see the snow and to play in it. Xander and the girls were bagging to go outside. Once they were out Kieron was cry to go with them. Kieron had no idea what to do with the snow except eat it.

Happy 6th Birthday Kylie!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Kylie Emma.
Kylie decided she wanted to have a mommy and Kylie shopping day. So, Sam and I gave Kylie money for her birthday instead of a present. She had a blast shopping and was quite the little shopper. She was a very smart shopper and came home with all sorts of girly things. With her money Kylie bought 2 pairs of shoes, a skirt, a shirt, a necklace, a barbie, a purse, and a journal,
After a day of shopping Grandma Barker came over with presents. Kylie was spoiled once again. Grandma got her a Doc McStuffins toy. Kylie loves this new show on Disney, it right up her alley. Kylie wants to be a children's heart doctor so she can help little kids with heart problems like she had. Kylie was in heaven the rest of the night.

After Disney World, Kylie had decided that she wanted a Ariel birthday cake. This is what we came up with. She LOVED it!
