Kylie's Kindergarten Graduation

Kylie knows her letters names & sounds, how to write numbers & letters, can READ, and tie her shoes. She even knows our phone number and address. So I guess its time to graduate from kindergarten.

Today was Kylie's gradutaion. It was a sad day for mommy and a great day for Kylie. She loved kindergarten but can't wait to be in the 1st grade. What she's mostly excited for is being at school all day like Janika. I'm sure that will get old fast.

Kylie had Mrs. Dickinson this year and absolutely loved her. We have had may crying sessions about how much she is going to miss Mrs. Dickinson. Kylie has decided that Mrs. Dickinson just needs to teach 1st grade. Good luck with that girly.

As part of the graduation the AM and the all day Kindergartners did a   very cute performance with tones of cute songs. Between songs each of the little graduates got up and said what they wanted to be when they grow up. There were lots of firefighters, army men, cheerleaders, and teachers. But not my little girl she wants to be a children's heart doctor. Way to go Kylie!
Here's one of the songs that they sang. Kylie is the one with her hat ready to fall off.

Piano Recital

Janika and Kylie started piano in January and have been loving it. Their teach has been great, she actually was Sam's teacher when he was little. He just never practice and now can't play

Tonight they had their first piano recital, they each played two songs. Kylie had both of hers memorized and Janika had one of hers memorized. They both did very well and we were very proud of them.

1st Broken Bone

During a take down at Judo on Wednesday, Xander landed on his elbow and then the other kid feel on Xander's elbow. Between the two impacts Xander's elbow was broken. Sam was there and able to know right a way that something was broken and rushed him to the hospital right a way. While at the hospital Xander was treated very well and even spoiled. The nurses and doctor did an amazing job. Xander was sent home with a temporary cast. We had to wait for the swelling to go down before a real cast could happen.
Xander was only on pain meds for 24 hours. He was riding his bike the next day. He has figured out how to do about everything with one hand. It's been cute and sad to watch him do everyday things. The main thing that he struggles with is eating, he gets so frustrated. Most meals end with tiers and Xander eating with his hands.
Today Brian at Intermountian Spine and Orthopaedics did Xrays and found everything healing very well. Xander then got his cast, Boise State colors. Brian thinks that he will only have to have that cast for 2 weeks, yea! Xander then will just have a splint.
We have been very blessed through this process. Xander has had a very good experience and actually thinks his cast is very cool. Things could have gone wrong at any point and been horrible for Xander. We are so grateful for all the amazing doctors, PAs, and nurses that have made it this way.

First Camping Trip 2013 - 1000 Springs

Camping Season has started in the Barker house. We had our first official camping trip this past weekend. We loaded up the trailer and headed to 1000 Springs in Hagerman. We love to go swimming there but have never camped there. It was perfect for us, close and there were hock ups(always a plus).
The kids had a blast playing in the sand, swimming, hiking, and roasting marshmallows.
The kids are now asking when we can go camping again. Soon kids, soon.

End of the Dance Season

The girls had their last dance recital for the season. Janika and Kylie worked very hard on their dances and did very well. They each performed 3 dances, a jazz, a tap, and a ballet. They loved dance and are ready for next you and say they want to do competition, I'm not sure if I ready for that. They are also excited that they now have new dress up.
