The Big 3-0

This year I joined the 30 club and I was ok with it. Most of our friends are in the club or even in the 40 club. I was the last to join and its all good because I'm still the youngest of my friends. Sam and some of my great friends threw a surprise party for me. One of my friends had called the day before and invited our family to have a BBQ at a local lake. I thought nothing of it until were walking up the picnic area and there was a big 30th birthday sign and balloons. I have a wonderful and loving husband and some amazing friends to put all this together. Thanks guys.

Swimming

The other day we headed to the pool to cool off in the hot weather. The kids of course had a blast splashing and swimming. Kieron is a little water rat that loves to float on his back and go under water.

Summer Time!

Every year Sam and I like to get some fun summer things to celebrate the end of school and to kick off the beginning of summer. We usually get a pool, a box of Otter pops, and some sunscreen to give to the kids. This year I decided to do some thing a little different, but have it still involve water. It's summer right?
I made this fun bike wash for the kids. Its perfect, it keeps them active by riding their bikes and cools them down by getting them wet. I gave it to them on the last day of school. It was a hit with my kids and all of the other kids on the street. So for now I'm the cool mom on the street, at least till one of them does something stupid causing me to yell.

Here's the link for the detail plans of this super cool bike wash, just in case you want to be the cool mom or dad for a while.

Kieron's 1st time to the Boise Zoo

After Janika and Kylie ran in the Capital Classic we headed to the Zoo in Boise. We never ended up going last year, so Sam and I decided that it would be a good activity this year. Kieron had never been and he's at the perfect age for the zoo, at least in my book.

Kieron loves all animals  but only knows a few names like kitty, dog, horse, and cow.   So every animal in the zoo was one of those.  At first we kept him in the stroller, but after realizing that he was trying to stand the whole time, we let him walk the rest of the zoo. He had a blast. He was very excited about the animals and would run up to them all excited . Then they would move and  Kieron would  take  3 steps back. It was pretty funny.

Everyone had a great time, even Sam was having fun. We made it through the zoo without any melt downs or losing a kid. I think we did pretty good.

The best part was the car ride back to Aunt Alex's.

Capital Classic Race 2013

Janika and Kylie participated in the Capital Classic run again this year with their cousin Brandt.

They started in different legs of the race. They found each other and came in holding hands once again. They even brought a friend with them.

Good Job Janika and Kylie!
