Fun With Adisen @ Dierkes Lake

Last weekend we went down to Reno for a quick visit and we brought home an extra kid, my niece Adisen. We'll have her for a little over 2 weeks. The girls have been having a lot of fun with each other. Janika and Adisen are 1 month apart in age and get along great. This week we've been busy with swimming in the backyard, movies, and going to Dierkes Lake. They've been looking forward to that all week and they had a blast. Here's a few pictures of all the fun we had.

Janika's 1st T-ball Game

Janika had her first t-ball game tonight and did great. For a little girl that was not sure that she even wanted to play, she was very aggressive out on the field. Where ever the ball, Janika was right there. She had a blast tonight and is ready for another game on Thursday.

The Start of Summer

We had our official kick off to summer, swimming lessons. All of my kids love the water. When we ask them what they want to do on daddy's day, they say SWIMMING. I spent my summers in the water, and I love that they all love it too. The girls have been look forward to this week for awhile now. This is their second year in lessons and are more comfortable in the water. Kylie was a little too comfortable and went too deep in the pool, and started to drown. Probably not the best on the first day. I wasn't able to get a good picture of Kylie but she's the little head always by Janika. Janika was the biggest in her class, so she's not hard to find.

Ugly to Beautiful

My table has taken some major abuse over the past 9 years. It has traveled across the country twice and received some water damage. Then having 3 kids has done a lot of abuse. It was very sad looking. It's solid oak and I knew that I could fix it, I was just scared to touch it. I finally got the guts to fix it. Heck, I couldn't make it worse.

After years of being on the summer project list and never really wanting to do it because of the process and time. I was very surprised that it only took 1 hour to sand down. I also found a stain-polyurethane that cut down the amount of steps.  I also only did the top, it would take me weeks to finish the whole table and 6 chairs. I'll buy new table before I do that. Anyways there the "new" table.

Fun Times With NV Friends

We had a fun Memorial day weekend with our friends from Nevada. My Highschool friend Jennifer and her two little girls, Tey'ana and Kayla came to visit for the long weekend. We started and ended the weekend with Gertie's Brick Oven, a local pizza joint that is yummy. The in-between parts we filled with swimming at 1000's Springs, Shoshone Falls, making cookies, sewing, and a lot of playing. The girls had a blast and want to know where they can play with Tey'ana and Kayla again. Here's a few pics of the crazy weekend with 6 girls and one little man(Sam was in TX)
