It's a Baby .........

In the middle of August we were match with a birthmother in Mississippi, due September 29th. M was 34 weeks along and was further along than she had ever been with any of her other pregnancies. All of her babies came between 24 and 30 weeks. She was expecting to deliver any day. Due to the adoption laws in Mississippi we relocated M and her 2 year old C to Wichita, KS. Everyone thought that she was for sure going to go into labor then due to the stress of the flight with a 2 year old, but no. M and C got everything settled in Kansas, thanks to our adoption lady, JoAnn.  So in Idaho we got everything in order to leave at any moment. I got as much as I could out for a baby, we didn't know if the baby was a boy or girl. Each week I would call and no sight of baby. I think the baby was waiting for us to get through all of the craziness of September, starting school, Janika's baptism, soccer and Ty's wedding the 29th. Finally after a month and a half of waiting the doctor scheduled a c-section for Oct 4th.

On the 3rd I few out to Ks, so that I could be right there when this little baby came. On Friday the 4th, I got in the car with JoAnn and we headed to pick up M. I was so nervous, I hadn't met M before or even talked to her, due to her request. She thought it would be too hard/emotional for her at the time. The second we met and hugged, we had an instant connection. We headed to the hospital and there we talked and talked. We had a great time getting to know each other while we waited for the doctors. We were having so much fun in her room that one of the med students stayed with us and even after the delivery. That med student will be a great doctor.
At about 1 they took M in for the c-section. I didn't go, she had wanted JoAnn there. They had grown close in the past month and half. So I waited in my own room for the baby. M didn't want to see the baby, so it was taken right out of the operating room right away. Just after 2, I could hear a baby crying down the hall. I ran to the door and saw the nurses coming with the baby. I then yelled, "what is it", and they yell
It's a Girl!
This is Lylia Grace-Iris

Born Friday, Oct 4th at 2:04pm
8 lbs 2oz, 19 inches
The delivery went very well, both mom and baby did great. After the nurses cleaned Lilya up, I got to hold her for the first time. It was love at first site. She was perfect. The perfect way to end our family, with a little princess.

Sam and I sent the next day at the hospital with our new little girl enjoying every minute. I also had several visits with M helping her get through some of the emotional parts of placing a baby. She is an amazing Mom, who had a hard decision to make. I hope that I can be everything that M wants me to be for this sweet baby. We love you M and treasure every moment we had with you.
