First Camping Trip 2013 - 1000 Springs

Camping Season has started in the Barker house. We had our first official camping trip this past weekend. We loaded up the trailer and headed to 1000 Springs in Hagerman. We love to go swimming there but have never camped there. It was perfect for us, close and there were hock ups(always a plus).

The kids had a blast playing in the sand, swimming, hiking, and roasting marshmallows. 

The kids are now asking when we can go camping again. Soon kids, soon.

End of the Dance Season

 The girls had their last dance recital for the season. Janika and Kylie worked very hard on their dances and did very well. They each performed 3 dances, a jazz, a tap, and a ballet. They loved dance and are ready for next you and say they want to do competition, I'm not sure if I ready for that. They are also excited that they now have new dress up.

Crazy but Fun

We maybe a little crazy, but we sure have a lot of fun as a family. We have a lot of giggling and food flying at dinner time, but that's how we roll in the Barker house. At least once a week dinner time ends in a food fight and a lot of laughter. The kids love dress-up, especially with Daddy. Sam has a huge thing, maybe even a man crush for Superman. So when the kids came down stairs all dressed up, Sam had to put on his Superman pj's. 

The door bell rang during our dress-up fun and yes Superman and Spiderman answered the door.

Backyard Clean-up

We spent the day cleaning up the backyard from the winter. Ok the girls and I did most of the work. Kieron and Xander played and played. Kieron had fun in the garden throwing dirt and putting it in his hair. Xander made his own water slide and clean Kieron off. They had a blast playing out side all day.

Easter 2013

Happy Easter!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter filled with jelly beans, chocolate bunnies, and most important Christ. We are always trying to have fun with holidays and making memories but at the same time remembering the importance of the special day. The girls are now a great age to understand the importance of Easter and the importance of the death and resurrection of Christ. We talk about Christ all the time and even more at Easter time and it seems like the Easter bunny became the main thing of Easter. However the girls really tried to remember Christ this year. They would find the different significance in the different Easter traditions. The boys on the other hand are definitely not there, it's about the candy filled eggs.

This year we enjoyed a few Easter egg hunts with friends and family. 

 By the time Easter came Kieron had the whole egg thing down. He would find an egg, shake it, open, and then eat all the candy before getting any other eggs.

Nap Time

 I guess Kieron was ready for bed after making a mess in the playroom.

SUN!

SUN!!! We had a great afternoon outside today playing in the front yard. Kylie started to learn to ride her bike without training wheels. She is doing very well and will be on two wheels real soon. Give her a week of practice and she'll have it down. Now if only we could have a week of nice weather. 

 Kieron road his bike with the help of his brother. Xander can be a great big brother when he wants to be.

One of the kids favorite things to do outside is color with chalk. They love to trace their bodies and make chalk people.

 We also went on a walk.
